- A freak accident caused a McLaren to collide with a Mercedes-Maybach SUV multiple times.
- It looked as if the McLaren driver had exited the car and locked himself out.
- The accident caused extensive damage to both luxury cars.
There’s a sense of helplessness that comes with locking your keys in your car. Added to that is the experience of the car being in motion and moving on its own. This is undoubtedly the panic-inducing feeling that the McLaren driver felt after apparently being in this situation. Not only was his exotic supercar moving on its own, but it was also about to crash into a $200,000 SUV.

It’s hard to tell exactly where in the world this video is from, but wherever it is, it’s pouring rain. At the beginning of the video, it’s almost impossible to tell what’s happening, but then the Maybach GLS moves forward and the McLaren suddenly appears. It turns out that from the beginning of this video, the McLaren has hit the SUV and is half-stuck under it.

The GLS then moves forward, while the McLaren appears to be in motion, moving forward slowly again. The owner seems to try to stop it with his own momentum, but fails. A man holding an umbrella approaches. Perhaps all this is because he tried to get out of the car to open the door for this person. On such a rainy day, we can’t think of any other good reasons to get out of the car.

Anyway, the car hits the Maybach again, and then once more, until the clip ends. If this is truly a McLaren 600LT, as some have suggested, it would probably be worth around $200,000 on its own. We’ve already determined the value of the Maybach, so we think the value of the two cars colliding is around $400,000.
It’s worth noting that some on the McLaren subreddit believe this isn’t a true 600LT, as those cars don’t inch forward like this when driven. Regardless of which variant it is, this is clearly a mistake that one owner won’t soon forget.
