Industry experts discuss the impact of tariffs on trade shows and on-site events

The EDPA Las Vegas chapter will launch its 2025 education program with a “Tariff Speech,” a virtual discussion on February 18 at 10 p.m./1 p.m. The event will explore the past, present and future impact of tariffs on the trade fair and live event industry, including insights from Kevin Carty, EVP at Classic Fairs, and Rob Cohen, Dishing Supply & Lighting VP, Vice President.

Why tariffs? Why now?

The idea of ​​a “Tariff Talk” emerged from the December 2024 EDPA Las Vegas Board Meeting, with leaders recognizing the lack of an industry-wide understanding of tariffs and their consequences.

“We feel that tariffs and how they affect the trade show and live event industry, that’s not what many of us know about work,” said Jen Labruzza, an industry advocate and event organizer. “I know that.” Kevin Carty and Rob Cohen have been working to make this topic a more obvious topic in our industry. What to expect
