- Elon Musk is the subject of a new study that examines his popularity among consumers.
- Not surprisingly, Musk drew his opinions sharply along the American party boundaries.
- Surveys show that internal combustion engines, men and truck drivers like Musk the most.
A new study from Hill Research and EV Politics Project formally confirms what most of us already doubt: Elon Musk is a polarized figure, just like everyone else before him. But what is particularly revealed is that political preferences and automotive preferences are clear. The 600-person survey provides some interesting insights into where Musk is in the eyes of voters and car owners.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que :()}; adpushup.que.push(function(){ if(adpushup.config.platform!==”Desktop”){adpushup.triggerad(“0f7e3106 -c4d6-4db4-4db4-8135 c5088799a76a76a76f8”) adpushup.triggerad(“82503191-E1D1-435A-874F-9C78A2A54A2F”);
Respondents were all voters with household income of $50,000 or more, and they received a survey in November 2024. According to the results, Musk enjoys a 42% hot cuteness rating. Among electric car owners, only 35% see him in the same light.
More: “I got beaten in the face because I have a Seberak,” said the owner who responded by distributing free cash.
Musk is more polarized when it comes to party lines, with 76% of Democratic voters having a negative view of him. On the other hand, 74% of Republican voters are in his favor. For Tesla itself, this could be a serious concern, as Democratic voters are almost twice as likely to be “very interested in buying electric cars” compared to Republicans (27% and 15%).
Now, stacked These results From Electric Vehicle Politics project Musk hasn’t completely attracted Democrats and central and left-leaning voters since November, and it’s easy to see why Tesla itself faces lower sales and protests in a part of the world. Unfortunately, not only Tesla itself is facing a rebound, as private owners are also bearing the brunt.
Finally, it is important to note that the EV political project is the product of Republican media adviser Mike Murphy. While the data from the survey appear to be legitimate, the source of the study and its relatively small sample size are worth remembering. Whether Musk or Tesla can manage to regain a positive reputation among EV owners or the entire left-leaning public is only time to tell us.
