There have been at least six complaints about the Enel X Way JuiceBox Level 2 residential EV charger, with two customers reporting serious fires caused by the EV chargers.

Four Enel X Way JuiceBox owners complained about an electrical defect in the charger that caused the circuit breaker to trip. This obviously stops the vehicle from charging.

One Enel X Way JuiceBox user said their car caught fire in the driveway while charging, and another Enel X Way JuiceBox owner complained that their house burned down while charging.

The consumer said the charger caused some type of explosion in the garage and the home was considered a total loss.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists these vehicles in documents related to the Enel X Way JuiceBox EV charger investigation:

  • 2018 Chevrolet Bolt

  • 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid

  • 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5

  • 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6

The closure of Enel X Way was apparently notified to JuiceBox owners, and NHTSA is aware that the closure was publicized on Canadian and North American websites.

The website says Enel X Way will close on October 11.

Considering a JuiceBox charger caused a fire while the company was shut down, safety regulators want to know what happened.

CarComplaints.com will update our website with the results of the Enel X Way closure and JuiceBox fire investigation.
