Hello everyone in the trade show industry, all the businesses that exhibit and sponsor trade shows, anyone who wants to learn more about these wonderful events that we call trade shows. I guess conferences and so on. I want to welcome everyone to a very special Thanksgiving program at Trade Show University.
Today’s episode is going to be a short one. I’m Jim Cermak, and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just want to quickly express some gratitude. But first I want to make a request. My request is that I hope you’ll take a moment today to say thank you to someone you may not have spoken to in a while.
This person could be a friend, a family member, or someone who has had an impact on your life. Maybe they are a good friend of yours. Maybe you admire their work ethic. Maybe. A teacher who had a major impact on your life? Whoever it was. Take a moment to think of something you are thankful for and who is responsible for it.
It could be something big or it could be something small, but something that has an impact could be something that happened yesterday or it could be something that happened years ago.
Okay. Now, once you’ve figured out that person and that thing that’s affecting you, pick up the phone and call that person, or go visit them, leave them a message, send them a text, do something to reach out to that person.
You never know how much better someone’s day can be just by reaching out and making a difference. So do it. That’s what I ask of you. I hope you’ll accept my request.
Now, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to express a few brief words of thanks.
First of all, I want to thank the Almighty God for creating me with love.
I want to thank Jesus Christ, thank His Son for saving me, and thank the Holy Spirit for guiding my path every day.
I want to thank my beautiful bride, Marianne, for believing in me and my dreams and supporting me and this podcast every step of the way. She is absolutely amazing.
Thank you to my children, Jake and Brittany, and my son-in-law, Bryan, for your continued love and support.
Thank you. I always look forward to our meetings as a family to discuss business and connect as a family.
For trade shows, events, virtual live and hybrid shows. Thank you for your passion and endless opportunities, which initially attracted me and made me a big fan.
Thank you for sticking with us over the past year, and while this industry has been through hard times, I am hopeful that when we stick together, we will emerge stronger.
For all of our guests who took the time to attend Trade Show University, we shared their insights, tips, and expert advice to help us all run better shows and stronger businesses.
I thank every single one of you and thank you to those of you who are listening to the show and maybe new listeners, please go back and check out our amazing library of interviews, I’ve been so lucky to interview so many amazing guests, so many amazing people.
Lastly, and most importantly, I want to thank the audience, the trade show professionals.
I like to call you trade show warriors, you work hard every day to put on a great event, and you make it all worth it. I appreciate your questions, suggestions, and comments in the ratings and reviews you leave on Apple Podcasts, as well as your comments and likes on social media.
It all means everything to me, and I’m doing this to help make your world a better place, to help you make your show better. And of course, a better ROI. So I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart, and I appreciate it so much. So happy holidays and good health to you and your loved ones.
And of course, happy Thanksgiving to everybody. I hope you all had a chance to enjoy yourselves today, and please stay tuned because we have more great shows coming up that I can’t wait to share with you. And again, happy Thanksgiving. Be sure to take time out and reflect on all that there is to be thankful for.
See you next time. Right here on the campus of Trade Show University.
