- The Honda HR-V has been redesigned to be similar to the Japanese version of the Vezel.
- Changes include a redesigned grille and improved NVH inside the cabin.
- A 129-horsepower self-charging hybrid powertrain is the only option.
Honda has launched the facelifted HR-V e:HEV in the UK, which has been updated in line with its Vezel sister model launched in Japan earlier this year. The European HR-V is still only available with the front-wheel drive e:HEV self-charging hybrid powertrain.
Visually, not much has changed since the third-generation model debuted in 2021. The highlight is a redesigned grille that gives the HR-V a slightly more purposeful stance. The front bumper features a revised lower air intake, while the lighting units feature deeper inner structures and new LED graphics. Honda has also enriched the color palette with three new hues – Sage Green, Seabed Blue and Urban Grey.

Positioned at the top of the HR-V range, the new Advance Style Plus trim adds a fixed panoramic glass roof, more body-coloured trim, a Crystal Black grille and a different set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, there’s a carryover digital cockpit with a 7-inch instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment system. However, the lower section of the center console has been tweaked to allow for easier access to the wireless charging pad and improved ergonomics. Other changes include additional sound deadening material and standard privacy glass. The SUV retains the signature rear Magic Seats, which can fold flat or flip up — just like the mechanically related Jazz/Fit hatchback.
Safety equipment has been improved with the addition of a multi-view camera system and an enhanced Traffic Jam Assist function that provides steering support at a standstill.
The e:HEV self-charging hybrid powertrain consists of the same 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine, two electric motors, a fixed gear transmission and a lithium-ion battery pack. Total output is 129 hp (96 kW / 131 PS), which is sent to the front wheels. Unlike the Japanese Honda Vezel, the European HR-V is not available in an AWD version, nor with the non-electrified 1.5-liter engine.
The facelifted Honda HR-V e:HEV will go on sale in Europe and the UK in September 2024. Pricing will be announced later.
