The Haas Formula One team has entered into a technical partnership with Toyota Gazoo Racing, the Japanese carmaker’s motorsport arm. As the official technical partner of Haas, Toyota will share its expertise and resources to benefit both teams. Toyota will contribute its knowledge of design, engineering and manufacturing, while Haas will provide its commercial strengths and racing experience. They will work together in joint testing sessions involving Toyota drivers, engineers and mechanics, giving Toyota an insight into the challenges of modern Formula 1 racing. In addition, Toyota will assist Haas with aerodynamic development and the design and production of key carbon fiber components. Toyota Gazoo Racing is already active in global motorsport, competing in the World Rally Championship, World Endurance Championship and World Rally Championship. The partnership is an important step for both Haas and Toyota, combining the best of both parties to improve their performance in Formula 1.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has been negotiating the deal for months and sees it as a key moment for the team as it aims to improve its standing on the track.
Starting with next weekend’s United States Grand Prix, Toyota Gazoo Racing’s branding will appear on the Haas F1 cars driven by Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen.
