India’s sedan sector recorded 30,445 units in February 2025, witnessing a year-on-year decline of 2.23% (compared to 31,140 units in February 2024. While some models saw a decline in sales, most sales fell, reflecting a shift in consumer preferences for SUVs.

The Maruti Dzire remains the best-selling sedan, despite its sales dropping 4.50%, from 15,387 units in February 2024 to 14,694 units in February 2025. Hyundai Aura, followed by 4,797 units, its 55.07% stock fell 5.07%. Honda’s Amaze is one of the few sedans, up 17.63% year-on-year, with 3,263 units sold, up from 2,774 last year.

Volkswagen Virtus also showed a positive trend, up 12.63% year-on-year to 1,837 units, up from 1,631 units in February 2024. Tata’s Tigor, including the EV variant, fell 9.46%, down 9.46%, and sold for 1,550 units at 1,712, while the 1,712 year was priced at 1,712. Hyundai’s Verna faces a sharp drop of 28.15%, selling 1,207 units, down from 1,680 in February 2024.

Maruti Ciaz has the highest growth rate, up 128.07% year-on-year, selling 1,097 units compared to just 481 last year. By comparison, Skoda Slavia and Honda City saw a decline of 12.35% and 24.92%, respectively, with Slavia at 901 units and 889 units in the city. In the premium sedan space, Toyota’s Camry remained stable, with only a 0.48% drop in 209 units. Skoda’s excellence was not available last year, with a unit sold in February 2025.

After a year-on-year decline of 2.23%, India’s sedan sector also saw a month decline of 5.84% (mom) decline, with total sales falling from 32,332 units in January 2025 to 30,445 units in February 2025. Most sedans account for negative growth, while Maruti ciaz and Honda City are with the strong Mom Mom ack aft Strowt Mom Momented not.

The Maruti Dzire remains the best-selling sedan, despite its sales dropping 4.48% from 15,383 in January to 14,694 in February. Hyundai’s Halo fell by 10.97%, with 4,797 units sold, down from 5,388 last month. Similarly, Honda’s Amaze fell 9.13%, recording 3,263 units, down from 3,591 units in January.

Volkswagen Virtus grew at 2.34%, up from 1,795 in January to 1,837 in February. Tata’s tigers (including EVs) also received 4.45% of mom revenue, with sales rising to 1,550 units. However, Hyundai’s Verna fell 18.28%, with 1,207 units sold in February, compared to 1,477 last month.

The biggest mom harvest comes from Maruti Ciaz, which soared 42.84%, from 768 in January to 1,097 in February. Honda City also increased by 20.30%, selling 889 units, up from 739 units last month. Toyota’s Camry grew at 6.09%, with 209 units in February and 197 in January. Meanwhile, Skoda’s Slavia’s Skoda’s Slavia had the highest decline, with Mom down 40.33%, and sales dropped from 1,510 to 901 units. Skoda Superb, which was absent in January, sold a unit in February.
