Ferrari F80 supercar launched with 1,184-hp twin-turbo V6

Ferrari has unveiled the 2025 F80 supercar, which follows in the footsteps of iconic predecessors such as the 1984 288 GTO, 1987 F40, 1995 F50, 2002 Enzo and 2013 LaFerrari, furthering the Italian marque’s legendary lineage. The F80 supercar combines Ferrari’s traditional performance with modern hybrid technology to deliver enhanced power and improved fuel efficiency. It uses a hybrid system that pairs a 120-degree 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor. Only 799 units of the F80 will be sold at a price of 3.6 million euros (approximately Rs. 316.4 crore), which is completely different from the manufacturer’s usual approach. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. With its streamlined design and advanced engineering, the F80 aims to maintain Ferrari’s position at the forefront of the supercar market.

Ferrari F80 supercar: power and performance data

Featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers a staggering 1,184 horsepower, the F80 incorporates advanced technology derived from Ferrari’s Formula One expertise. Its mid-mounted 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine combines with three electric motors to achieve outstanding power delivery and promises stunning acceleration. The F80 has two electric motors powering the front wheels and also has all-wheel drive. It comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an active suspension system controlled by four 48V electric motors that adjust the damper stiffness at each wheel.

Ferrari reports impressive acceleration figures for its new flagship model. According to the company, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds and to 200 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Top speed is 350 km/h.

The F80 sets new aerodynamic benchmarks with its Formula 1-inspired elements, generating 1050kg of downforce at 250km/h. Its cutting-edge underfloor design incorporates barge panels, a three-plane wing and an active rear wing that can lift and tilt by 200mm. The chassis uses an asymmetrical carbon fiber structure with the driver’s side wider than the passenger side, resulting in a 5% weight reduction and 50% increase in stiffness compared to the LaFerrari.

As with all of Ferrari’s latest models, the F80’s design highlights the contrast between the body-colored upper section and the painted carbon fiber lower section, showcasing the car’s technical capabilities. In the F80, designers deliberately avoided making the front face anthropomorphic. Instead, the headlights are hidden within the visor – a black screen that serves both aerodynamic and optical purposes and adds to the car’s unique look. The rear section features a truncated design that offers two configurations: one with the wings retracted and the other with the wings raised. The rear lights feature a double-layer structure that combines the crossbar and spoiler to create a sandwich effect that enhances the sporty character of both setups.

Ferrari F80 supercar: interior

In the F80, Ferrari minimized the width of the central tub to reduce drag and weight, and according to the brand, the cockpit offers a single-seater-like experience. The driver’s seat is separated from the passenger seat by a raised center console, similar to the layout of the Chevrolet Corvette, and is positioned slightly higher than the passenger seat.

The F80 also introduces a new custom-designed steering wheel, which is smaller than the LaFerrari’s version and has a flat top and bottom. Physical buttons are back on the spokes on either side, replacing the fully digital controls Ferrari has favored in recent years.

Safety features include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and automatic high-beam headlights.
