- The most powerful Abarth has angry looks, 20-inch wheels and a sharper chassis setup.
Abarth has released full details of the new 600e, just in time for its launch in European markets. The EV is Abarth’s first crossover and its most powerful production model, with the Scorpion badge on the hood. It is available in two styles: Turismo and Scorpionissima, offering 237 hp and 278 hp respectively. This most powerful trim is produced in a limited edition of 1,949 units to commemorate the Italian brand’s founding year.
The Abarth 600e was initially announced in early 2024 with a promised output of 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS). However, like the closely related Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, Stellantis realized it could squeeze more ponies from a single electric motor, giving the Scorpionissima a special edition a more respectable 278 hp (207 kW / 280 PS). ).

The Abarth 600e Turismo retains the original 237 hp (177 kW / 240 hp) and torque remains unchanged at 345 Nm (254.5 lb-ft). Drivers can use Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track driving modes to unleash different levels of power and adjust ESP settings. Power is transmitted to the front axle via JTEKT’s standard Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential.
In Scorpion Track mode, the Scorpionissima sprints from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.85 seconds compared to the Turismo’s 6.24 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h (124 mph). Hour).

Abarth says the 600e was developed in collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport, using components from partner companies Michelin, Sabelt, JTEKT Torsen and Alcon. The electric vehicle uses the “Perfo eCMP” architecture, which is an enhanced version of the regular eCMP and supports multiple Stellantis hatchbacks and SUVs.
Abarth-specific chassis setup includes Alcon brakes, stiffer suspension, rear anti-roll bar and wider track. The 54 kWh battery pack also comes with a special cooling system that is said to improve performance. Predictably, the Abarth 600e’s WLTP range of 334 kilometers (208 miles) is worse than the less powerful Fiat, which can travel an additional 75 kilometers (46 miles) on a charge.
Angry exterior, dark themed interior
To differentiate the “evil” Abarth 600e from its lovable Fiat twin, the design team created a unique body kit. Changes include deeper front and rear bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels and a prominent rear spoiler. The square design of the bumper is inspired by the square radiator of the Abarth 850 TC “cassettone”.
Additionally, the color palette includes unique shades such as Acid Green and Scorpionissima’s exclusive Hypnotic Violet, as well as Antidote White, Shock Orange and Venom Black. This special launch also features gloss black trim, black decals and colored brake calipers.

Highlights inside are the Sabelt bucket seats with integrated headrests, which are more aggressively designed, and Alcantara upholstery in the Scorpionissima instead of the fabric upholstery in the Turismo. Equipment includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and Abarth-specific graphics, a six-speaker audio system, ChatGPT integration and Level 2 ADAS. Strangely, Abbas’ artificial sound generator only appears in Scorpionissima.
The Abarth 600e will be available for pre-order in major European markets from October 29, 2024. In the UK, prices start at £36,975 ($48,044) for the Turismo and £41,975 ($54,540) for the Scorpionissima. By comparison, the smaller, less powerful Abarth 500e starts at £31,195 ($40,536) in the same market.
