First Mahindra Thar Roxx delivered, auctioned for Rs 131 crore

The online auction of the Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV ended with a winning bid of Rs 131 crore from Aakash Minda from Delhi. More than 10,900 people attended the auction over the past two days. The entire bid amount will be donated to the Naandi Foundation. Aakash is also the winner of the first auction of Thar 3-door off-road SUV held in 2022. The Nebula Blue variant of the SUV (VIN 0001) was handed over to Minda, New Delhi on October 8, 2024. The Thar Roxx was delivered with special badges and signature of Anand Mahindra.

The first delivery unit of the Thar Roxx is a fully loaded range-topping AX7L diesel automatic variant with 4X4 capability. Under the hood, it comes with a 2.2-liter diesel engine that delivers 175 hp and 370 Nm of power. The diesel 4X2 variant comes with a 152bhp and 330Nm version of this engine. The new Mahindra off-road SUV also comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 162 hp and 330 Nm of torque with manual gearbox and 177 hp and 380 Nm of torque with automatic gearbox.

The 4X4 version of the Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with ‘Intelliturn’ and ‘Smart Crawl’ features that lock the rear inner wheel through steering movement and off-road cruise control respectively to achieve sharp turns. The top-end AX7L variant of the SUV offers unique features such as cooled glovebox, 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, power 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, power-folding ORVMs, blinds live monitoring system, 360-degree camera and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The Thar Roxx model lineup has four 4X4 variants – MX5 MT, AX5L AT, AX7L MT and AX7L AT – priced at Rs 18.79 lakh, Rs 20.99 lakh, Rs 20.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh respectively. this 4X2 variant of SUV The price range is Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
