Forced electric motors to supply 2978 Gurkha SUV to Indian Defence Force

Force Motors has announced significant developments in cooperation with the Indian Defense Forces and has received orders to provide 2978 Gurkha SUVs. This important contract strengthens the company’s establishment in the field of military-grade mobility solutions.

While the specific configuration of the vehicle specified for defense use has not been disclosed, gurkha is available in both the three-door and five-door variants. The SUV was fully updated last year and received significant cosmetic and feature enhancements.

These include redesigned alloy wheels, refreshed headlights, new grille and upgraded cabin materials. Modern features such as a fully digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, dual front airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system help improve its appeal.

The Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-liter diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz, which now offers 140 hp and 320 nm of torque. With 233mm of class ground clearance, the SUV is designed in demanding environments, a key requirement for military operations.

Although it is a civilian version of gurkha, the price is Rs. Rs 1.8 lakh (former showroom) – Appearing in four door format, the defense specification unit may vary depending on operational needs and specifications.
