The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said about 45,500 Bronco SUVs were involved, and if there was a fuel pump problem, the scale of the problem could be larger because multiple Ford and Lincoln models are equipped with the same fuel pump.
Owners of 2021 Ford Broncos are complaining about fuel pump issues while driving. The fuel pump failure occurs without warning, causing the Broncos to stall and unable to restart the engine.
Bronco owners must replace the low-pressure fuel pump.
NHTSA did not release further details about the 2021 Ford Bronco fuel pump issue or the investigation, but the government will also inspect other models equipped with the same fuel pump.
