Ford Mustang crashes into crowd after failed drift on icy field

Showing off in slippery conditions with everyone around you in a Mustang – what could possibly go wrong?

Ford Mustang crashes into crowd after failed drift on icy field
  • The Mustang’s tires failed to grip the snow-covered parking lot, causing a chaotic crash.
  • It was unclear whether any spectators were seriously injured in the shocking collision.
  • In another incident, a Mustang driver lost control in front of a truck and fell into a ditch.

Unless you’re driving a rally car or at a specialized winter racing school, it’s a bad idea to attempt a power slide on icy roads. Losing control and crashing are almost inevitable. It seems the driver of a particular Ford Mustang (who would have thought?) in the US didn’t have the wherewithal to realize this and ended up plowing into the crowd. The entire scene was captured on video.

It’s unclear exactly where in the United States the accident occurred, but it appears to have occurred recently during a car party. Snow can be seen covering the trees in the background, and the parking lot is covered in sleet, snow and ice.

Stupid is stupid

Despite the dangerous situation, the driver appeared to be trying to kick off the pony car’s tail, likely hoping they could get the rear wheels to spin and put on a show for onlookers. However, when trying to turn right, all the driver gets is a burst of understeer as the front tires try and fail to gain any traction on the slippery surface.

Even after the driver slammed on the brake pedal, the Ford continued to move forward, eventually plowing into the crowd, knocking over a fence and several tires in the process.

WARNING: Some viewers may find the following video disturbing

The Mustang appeared to hit some spectators, but it was unclear if anyone was seriously injured. At least three people jumped out of the Ford immediately after the accident, inevitably shocked (and possibly embarrassed) by what had just happened. The crowd went crazy and people started yelling and throwing snow at the cars.

In a second video shared by the same Instagram account @atlmuscle, a man can be seen pinned against the fence on top of the car. Although no details about his condition have been revealed, he appears to have escaped the worst of it.

Here’s another…

This isn’t the only accident involving a wild horse that’s been circulating online recently. Last week, dashcam footage shared on Reddit captured the driver of an older model driving recklessly in front of an oncoming truck. The driver stepped on the accelerator and the rear of the car lunged, but instead of keeping the coasting, the driver seemed to overcorrect and drove the “Stang” straight into a ditch.

Although the calendar recently turned to 2025, the scourge of Mustang accidents appears to continue.
