The Tremor is the latest off-road-focused Ford Ranger in the Australian range, with the same chassis upgrades as the Wildtrak X
- Australia’s Ranger Tremor is based on the Sport trim but adopts the off-road suspension and steering components of the Wildtrak X.
- The truck is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine mated to an all-wheel drive system.
Ford has launched the Ranger Tremor and its off-road upgrades in the Australian market, following its debut in New Zealand a year ago. The Ranger Tremor inherits the Wildtrak X’s more robust suspension and steering system, combined with rugged styling and more durable cabin materials.
The Tremor is based on the Ranger Sport, adding all the important chassis components of the Wildtrak X. These include Bilstein position-sensitive dampers with external reservoirs, new springs, heavy-duty power steering and a more advanced full-time 4WD system.

Compared to the base Ranger, the Tremor has 26 mm (1 in) more ground clearance and a 30 mm (1.18 in) wider track. The Tremor also adopts the Raptor’s Rock Crawl driving mode, as well as Trail Turn Assist and Trail Control (off-road cruise control) systems.
Visually, the Tremor features special badging, steel skid plates, cast aluminum side steps, and a sports bar on the cabin. It also rides on 17-inch Asphalt Black alloy wheels shod with General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires.
Ford Australia
The Australian model doesn’t look quite as plain as the New Zealand-spec Tremor, thanks to its LED headlights and honeycomb grille. Inside, Ford designers added orange Tremor badging to the seats.
Under the hood is the familiar 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel powertrain that produces 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 500 Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system – just like the Wildtrak X.
The Ford Ranger Tremor is limited to 1,150 examples for the Australian market. The mid-size truck is priced at AUD 69,690 (US$ 45,936), which is just AUD 50 (US$ 33) more than a regular Wildtrak with the same engine, and AUD 6,300 (US$ 4,157) cheaper than the Wildtrak X. By comparison, the more powerful V6-powered Raptor is priced at AUD 90,440 (US$ 59,629).
