The Jeddah street circuit is one of the fastest in the world, with 27 turns, and will be shortened to suit the unique requirements of Formula E.
Formula E’s annual race in Saudi Arabia will move from Diriyah to Jeddah next season. The race will take place on a shortened version of the Formula 1 Jeddah Corniche. The change was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sports. Jeddah will host two events on February 14-15, 2025. Diriyah, near Riyadh, has hosted six events in the past, but the Gen3 cars struggled to deliver exciting racing. Jeddah’s track, with longer straights and more overtaking opportunities, is expected to provide better racing. The final track layout will be confirmed in October.
The GEN3 EVO era of Formula E will kick off on December 7, 2024 with the Formula E Grand Prix of São Paulo, setting the stage for the remainder of the season, which will continue on January 11 with the Formula E Grand Prix of Mexico City.

Although the circuit is known for its speed, it will be modified for Formula E. The final layout for the Formula E race has yet to be confirmed by Formula E and the FIA.
In June, Formula E organizers proposed a 2024-25 schedule that included a new race in Saudi Arabia. Another race was originally scheduled for March 8 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but political problems in Thailand put the event in question, leading officials to consider alternative locations.
