It’s no secret that the Detroit Lions faithful appreciate the team’s continued (mostly) winning streak this season, which has been trending upward since head coach Dan Campbell took over in 2021 . Now, the Grand Traverse Resort’s spa near Traverse City has followed the Lions’ lead and launched a new exclusive Touchdown Suite.
Grand Traverse Resort and Spa public relations manager Caroline Rizzo said the hotel began a corporate partnership with the Detroit Lions in August and began brainstorming ways to bring the partnership to northern Michigan. “The Detroit Lions provide a unique experience for fans attending games at Ford Field, and we hope to bring that same excitement to the resort,” she said.
The result is the Touchdown Suite, a 10th-floor guest room at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa with custom décor inspired by the team’s Honolulu blue and silver. Also part of the theme are memorabilia and artwork that pay homage to the team’s history. “Providing guests with an immersive experience through the Touchdown Suite has been an exciting project and has received very positive feedback,” said Rizzo.
Those staying in the suites will find full-size helmets, framed photos and officially licensed gear. Room features one king bed and views of the bay, Old Mission Peninsula and surrounding countryside.
Other perks of staying in a Touchdown Suite at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa include free game-themed snacks and Lions fan gifts. Guests also have access to amenities such as three championship golf courses, a full-service spa and multiple dining options.
Rizzo noted that those registering for a conference at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa will have the option to request a stay in the DaVinci Suite.
“There will be groups coming to the resort and booking all the rooms in our inventory,” she said, “so that people who are here on business can stay in the rooms.”
