Hennessey'S 1,005-Horsepower Cadillac Escalade-V Races Against A Lamborghini Huracan, Can You Guess The Outcome?
  • While the Cadillac has significantly more power than the Lamborghini, it also weighs nearly 3,000 pounds more.
  • John Hennessey got behind the wheel of the Escalade-V H1000 himself to see what it could do.
  • A standing start and a rolling drag race were conducted to see which of the two was fastest.

The Cadillac Escalade isn’t the type of vehicle you’d normally expect to see racing against the Lamborghini Huracan Evo. However, Hennessey Performance’s Escalade-V H1000 is no ordinary Escalade. In fact, this beast is pretty much the fastest SUV of its size on the planet.

Hennessey launched its H1000 package for the Escalade-V late last year and will build 100 examples for the 2023 and 2024 model years. It has an incredible 1,005 horsepower and 882 pound-feet (1,195 Nm) of torque, and despite weighing about 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg), it can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds ).

To achieve these impressive numbers, Hennessey modified the Escalade-V’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, adding a new high-flow supercharger, air intake system, upgraded lifters and pushrods, high-flow Catalytic converter, new cams, ported cylinder heads and new software calibration.

1000 Hp Cadillac Vs. Lamborghini Huracan Evo | H1000 Escalade-V Upgrade By Hennessey

To get an idea of how easy it is to start, the tuner compared it to a Huracan Evo. Neither driver is using launch control, and both the Huracan and Escalade-V are in their respective sport modes. In the first race from a standstill, the Cadillac got a better start and quickly opened up the gap with the Lamborghini. However, as the pace began to pick up, the Italian supercar overtook Hennessy to take victory by roughly two car lengths.

In the second race, the Escalade-V held a slight lead. This allowed it to build a larger gap to the Huracan and take the win, although it eventually ended in a photo as the Lamborghini closed the gap as it continued to gain speed.

The final test is a rolling match between the two. Both are blisteringly fast, and while the Huracan wins despite boasting “only” 631 horsepower, it’s worth remembering that it’s a luxury family truck that weighs nearly 3,000 pounds (1,360 kilograms).
