As seen in the design patent, the Hero Karizma 250 will feature upgraded components and improved aerodynamics to compete with the Yamaha R15
With the launch of the Karizma XMR 210, Hero MotoCorp has made a very bold statement. For the first time, Hero MotoCorp has taken a giant leap in engine technology, components and equipment. Now, there seems to be an even better version, as a leaked design patent shows, and it looks like the Hero Karizma 250.
Hero Karizma 250 design leaked
Hero MotoCorp, the world’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, is systematically improving its competitiveness in the high-end market. We’ve seen a series of new Premia dealerships specializing in premium vehicles. These showrooms should be stocked with products to increase footfall, and that’s exactly what Hero seems to be doing.
The company showcased a range of potentially upcoming vehicles at the 2023 EICMA show. Among these vehicles, the most interesting one is the Hero 2.5R Xtunt Concept. Some test mules have been spotted in India that look like the Xtreme 210R, inheriting the design cues from the 2.5R Xtunt Concept.
However, a new design leak from Hero confirms that there will be a new version of the Karizma motorcycle which will have better components and improved aerodynamics. As can be seen from the leaked design, some components look like they were taken from the Xtunt Concept.
The fuel tank looks more aggressive, similar to the one on the 2.5R Xtunt Concept. There appear to be slight changes to the fairing, but we now have aerodynamic winglets at the front, which may help add a few kilograms of downforce for added dynamic capability.
In addition, handling characteristics have been improved, and USD telescopic front forks have been added for the first time to the Karizma. The bike’s main and subframes along with the wheels, seat and ORVMs look similar to those seen on the Karizma XMR 210 sold in India. One can speculate that it will be powered by a 250cc engine producing close to 30 bhp and 25 Nm.
Is it the pro version of Karizma?
Considering all the similarities between the upcoming Hero Karizma 250 and the current model, one can also speculate that the leaked design is a Pro version of the Karizma XMR 210 with better components. Hero follows this strategy with the Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse 200 4V Pro.
If this is true, we expect the Karizma to retain its 210cc DOHC 4V single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with 25.15 bhp and 20.4 Nm. Features such as the 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS will remain unchanged. Notable additions include USD forks and aerodynamic winglets.
