The Hero Xoom 125R was recently spotted testing in India, creating excitement among automotive enthusiasts ahead of its expected launch. The upcoming model from Hero MotoCorp will be a blend of style and performance, as evidenced by the striking split LED taillight setup visible in the test photos. The Xoom 125R appears to be a strategic addition to Hero’s product line-up to cater to the growing demand for innovative and dynamic two-wheelers in the Indian market. Initial information suggests that the motorcycle will feature a modern design and advanced technology, making it a strong contender in the 125cc segment. Hero Xoom 125R: Design, Engine and Features

Hero MotoCorp launched two new sports scooters in the Xoom series last year, namely the 160 and 125R. Compared to the Xoom 110, the 125R has a more refined design language while retaining the overall styling elements. A test bike was spotted near the Hero factory in Rajasthan, showing the upcoming Xoom 125R from the back. The model looks huge and powerful. It has a sleek tail profile and a split LED light system. It also comes with a split grab rail, large pillion footrests and 14-inch wheels.

Mechanically, the 124.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that powers the revised Destini 125 will also power the Xoom 125R. It is not clear whether the manufacturer will tweak the engine for the relatively sportier Xoom. This engine outputs a maximum power of 9.4bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.4Nm at 6,000rpm. It is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.

In terms of features, the Xoom 125R will offer first-in-class sequential LED indicators, a fully digital instrument cluster, along with Bluetooth connectivity, SMS notification alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The steel chassis of the Xoom 125R, supported by a telescopic front fork and a mono-shock absorber, will house the engine. Additionally, front disc and rear drum brakes will make up the braking system.

When launched, the Xoom 125R is likely to compete with the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis 125, Honda Dio 125, Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and Aprilia SR 125. As for the price, the Hero model is expected to be priced around Rs 80,000 for the entry-level model while the top-end model will be priced around Rs 90,000.
