Earlier this year, Hilton leaders gathered at the 75th International Aviation Conference in Milan, Italy, to discuss the future of the space hotel industry, including how to provide comfortable accommodations and how to make food fresh and sustainable.

The new site is operated by a U.S.-led global joint venture Voyager space, airbus, Mitsubishi Corporation and MDA spacewill be a free-flying commercial satellite designed to promote breakthrough research and innovation, while also benefiting from Hilton’s years of expertise. Hilton’s partnership is designed to ensure every stage of an astronaut’s journey, from preparation on the ground to life in space and back to Earth, is comfortable and welcoming.
period international aviation congressA panel of Hilton experts, including Larry Traxler, senior vice president of global design services, and Emma Banks, vice president of food and beverage strategy and development for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, were joined by Starlab CEO Tim Kopra, NASA Johnson Space Center Director Vanessa Wyche and Alexander Gerst, Europe NASA astronaut and geophysicist, and astronaut, geoscientist and space artist Sian Proctor Doctors were on stage talking about how they are working together to create comfortable and enjoyable ways for human space exploration, how to make food more sustainable in space, and how to use technology to provide fresh ingredients.
Hilton, Voyager Space and Starlab Space also shared video of the first flight of the Starlab space station at the event.
This flight video shows off several key areas within the Starlab space station, including crew common areas, wellness spaces and advanced sleeping areas.
The collaboration between Hilton, Voyager Space and Starlab breaks new ground in combining space innovation with hospitality expertise, with the potential to transform the future of space travel and create new benchmarks for comfort and sustainability in space residence.
