  • Honda has launched a new special edition of the City Hammerback in Thailand.
  • Named Drival, it is based on E:HEV RS to add a sharper Bodykit
  • There are no power or chassis upgrades, and production limit is 1,000 units.

Honda City may have earned reputation for hissing variants like the Civic Type R, but Honda has sleek upgrades with a new limited edition. Entering the Honda City drill bit, a new sight for the popular hatchery in the Asian market, is based on the E:HEV RS trim and adds some athletic ability.

This special edition appears only in pearl white and has a bold glossy black accent throughout. The great feature here is the body kit which adds a front splitter, side skirts, rear bumper extension with diffuser, and especially the large rear wings.

On the wheel side, the Drival comes with a fresh set of 16-inch alloys that complete the look. Honda’s decision to abandon Chrome pays off here, with the grille, badge, roof and mirror all with a glossy black finish. Inside, the cabin matches the exterior vibe with a black interior with red accents and stitching.

Since Drival is based on a high standard E:HEV RS trim, it is no surprise that it is equipped with good features in terms of technology. The driver gets an 8-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an eight-speaker sound system, and automatic climate control. The model also has a handful of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAs), such as roadway assistance and adaptive cruise control, which have become standard in most modern vehicles.

Unfortunately, updates don’t scale to the performance aspect of things. Under the hood, you’ll still find the same E:HEV hybrid setup as before – the 1.5-liter engine offers 97 hp (72 kW) and paired with a single motor for 108 hp (80 kW). All this power is routed to the front wheel via the E-CVT.

The new Honda City Drival Edition starts at 829,000 ($24,400) in Thailand, making it the most expensive decor in the series. For comparison, the entry-level city S+ starts at 599,000 ($17,600), while the flagship E:HEV RS costs ฿799,000 ($23,500).

Honda’s contemporary sedan debuted in 2019, followed by a 2020 hatchback. Both have seen mid-term updates in 2023 and 2024. The city of Honda is available in multiple markets in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, offering budget-friendly alternatives to models like Civic.
