Honda launches performance parts division at SEMA

  • The positive response to the bold Integra Type S HRC prototype will lead to a range of special street and off-road performance parts.
  • The SEMA show cars will include a special version of the Pilot.
  • Aftermarket tuner Bisimoto also overhauled the Honda Prologue and brought it to Las Vegas.

American Honda Racing has confirmed it will establish a new business to produce high-performance parts for Honda and Acura models and make them available to owners. The announcement comes at the 2024 SEMA Show, where Honda will display a series of race cars and a special Prologue modified by Bismoto.

We have strong indications that a Honda/Acura performance parts line is coming. In August, HRC unveiled a one-off Acura Integra Type S with a host of upgrades, saying at the time that the prototype previewed a range of street and track parts that might hit the market. Just two months later, HRC said strong interest in the prototype prompted them to move forward with the program.

The first prototypes equipped with these new parts are expected to be ready as early as next year. It’s unclear which Honda/Acura models will be first equipped with these new performance add-ons, or when they will become available to customers.

To get fans excited, HRC brought the Integra Type S HRC prototype to SEMA, along with a special Pilot HRC prototype equipped with off-road accessories that may be available to customers. A variety of racing cars will also appear in Las Vegas, including last year’s Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 car, Acura ARX-06 prototype, Honda Indy car, Honda Ridgeline Baja racing truck, Honda CR-V hybrid race car, Acura Integra Type S DE5, and the HRC Honda Civic Type R Pace Car used in the Indy Series.

Bismoto 2024 Honda Prologue

American Honda also partnered with Bismoto to create a custom Prologue for the event. This particular creation sits on an air suspension suspension that allows the ride height to drop significantly.

Bisimoto also installed a set of 22-inch Brixton Forged TR09 one-piece wheels, Inno roof racks and Inno roof boxes, all while wrapped in beautiful vinyl. Photos of the EV’s interior have yet to be released, but we’re told the tuner has designed a custom yoke steering wheel for it.
