Hyundai Alcazar facelift adopts new design language, available in both petrol and diesel versions
The Hyundai Alcazar facelift has been launched with prices starting at Rs 14.99 lakh for the petrol manual transmission 7-seater model and Rs 15.99 lakh for the diesel model (ex-showroom and introductory price). While there are no mechanical changes to the car, it has received major updates in terms of design and features. The facelift is available in four trims: Executive, Prestige, Platinum and Signature and is now open for bookings at a price of Rs 25,000.
Design and features
The most noticeable changes to the new Alcazar are at the front. The SUV now features a bold H-shaped LED daytime running light design connected by a light bar. A larger grille with horizontal slats enhances the vehicle’s presence, while the bumper’s air intakes are more prominent and surrounded by silver trim, making the front end look more substantial.
From the outside, the changes are minimal, but the updated model gets new 18-inch alloy wheels and practical roof rails. The rear has a full-width taillight design with a large H-shaped graphic and silver detailing on the bumper for a sportier aesthetic.
The Alcazar facelift will be available in nine exterior colours, with eight single-colour options including the newly added Atlas White, Robust Emerald Pearl and Fiery Red. It will also be available in a two-tone version, Atlas White with an Abyss Black roof.
Interior and features
Inside, the facelifted Alcazar gets the same dashboard layout as the recently updated Creta, with dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The cabin also gets a new dual-tone tan and dark blue colour scheme.
One notable update is that in the 6-seat configuration, the fixed center console between the second-row captain’s chairs has been removed, providing more space for access to the third row. The second-row seats now feature retractable thigh support, ventilation, and a “boss mode” that increases legroom by adjusting the front passenger seat from the rear. Rear passengers also enjoy fold-down tray tables and sun visors.
On the safety front, the facelifted model introduces Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. Other highlights include a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, electric front seats, wireless charging for the front and middle rows, dual-zone climate control, a Bose sound system, connected car features, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags.
Powertrain and performance
Under the hood, the Alcazar facelift continues to use the same engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. The petrol engine produces 160 hp and 253 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are front-wheel drive and offer multiple drive and traction control modes, including snow, sand and mud settings.
Competitors
The updated Hyundai Alcazar will continue to compete with rivals in the mid-size SUV segment, including the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector Plus. With its updated design and added features, Hyundai aims to strengthen its position in this competitive segment.
