Hyundai Creta EV: Interior elements

The latest spy shots of the Hyundai Creta EV interior reveal key elements such as the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, gray and black dual-tone theme, and seats. Notably, the EV version has a unique three-spoke steering wheel, unlike the internal combustion engine (ICE) version, and includes paddle shifters, presumably to control regenerative braking. The gear selector may be located behind the right-hand steering wheel. Unlike the regular Creta, the electric model does not have a flat-bottom steering wheel and Hyundai’s badge, instead opting for four points on the horn pad, a signature design of Hyundai’s electric lineup.

The overall layout of the cabin is similar to that of the ICE version, equipped with a 10.25-inch curved infotainment system, a 10.25-inch full digital display and a floating center console. Additionally, the gear lever has been replaced by storage space and the leatherette upholstery displays a ‘Creta Electric’ badge. The image also suggests the presence of auto-dimming IRVM. The center console features controls for seat ventilation, automatic hold, electric parking brake and multiple driving modes.

The Creta EV will come with Level 2 ADAS, advanced connectivity technology and Home-to-Car Alexa functionality, which will enable owners to turn on the SUV’s air conditioner remotely from home. Other features include multiple USB charging ports, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, 360-degree surround cameras and a high-end Bose sound system.

Hyundai Creta EV: Powertrain

While the official technical specifications of the Hyundai Creta EV are yet to be revealed, it is expected to be powered by a 45kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor. The motor is expected to produce a peak power of 136bhp and a maximum torque of 255Nm. Additionally, the Creta EV may support fast charging technology.

Hyundai Creta EV: Appearance

Although the Creta EV is very similar to the standard model, it comes with unique EV-specific design features. These include a closed grille with an integrated front camera, redesigned front and rear bumpers and new aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. Additionally, the Creta EV will get a charging port on the front fender. Common features between the standard and electric versions include quad-beam LED headlights and updated LED daytime running lights (DRL), networked LED taillights and LED sequential turn signals.
