Hyundai is preparing to launch its first mid-size electric SUV, Creta EV, next month; expected to have two battery packs and a range of more than 450 kilometers
Hyundai Creta EV is scheduled to make its global debut at the Bharat Mobile World Expo 2025, where its official pricing will be announced. The Creta EV is designed to compete with key rivals such as the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE6/XEV 9e and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara and is expected to adopt an aggressive pricing strategy. With this product, Hyundai aims to gain a foothold in the growing electric SUV market and appeal to a broad consumer base.
The test mule of the Hyundai Creta EV highlights several design updates that emphasize its electric nature. Notable changes include a closed grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and stylish 18-inch aerodynamic wheels. Although the LED headlights and taillights are very similar to those of the standard Creta, the EV sports a more premium and aerodynamic design.
Internally, the Creta EV appears to retain a similar cabin layout and features as the ICE model, maintaining a familiar feel for buyers. However, the underlying K2 platform will undergo significant modifications to accommodate battery packs and other components unique to electric vehicles.
