Hyundai Creta, one of India’s best-selling SUVs, is all set to launch a new special edition. According to leaked certification documents, the upcoming model will be called Hyundai Creta SE, which may stand for sports or special edition. It will be available in two trims – S (O) and SX (O). The new Creta SE will be available with four engine-gearbox combinations, including a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (113bhp/144Nm) with manual or iVT transmission, and a 1.5L turbodiesel engine (113bhp/144Nm with manual or automatic transmission). 250Nm). The latest spy shots reveal that the Hyundai Creta EV will feature a new three-spoke steering wheel and a drive selector lever inspired by the Kona EV, located on the steering column. Its center console will be slightly different from the regular Creta, with two cup holders, cooled seat button, electronic parking brake button, 360-degree camera and auto-hold feature. The center panel for the HVAC controls will be similar to that of the new Alcazar. While the electric Creta is likely to come with an updated infotainment system, the dual-screen setup will remain unchanged.
According to reports, the Hyundai Creta EV will be equipped with a 45kWh battery pack and a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing a maximum power of 138bhp and 255Nm of torque. The new-generation Kona EV sold globally also comes with the same powertrain setup.
