Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG twin-cylinder model

Hyundai has introduced a new twin-cylinder CNG unit in the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. It is the same technology that we recently saw on the Exter compact SUV. Dubbed the Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo, the new model is priced at Rs 7.75 lakh for the Magna variant and Rs 8.30 lakh for the Sportz variant. Prices are ex-showroom in India. The Magna Hy-CNG Duo is priced around Rs 32,000 more than the equivalent petrol AMT variant. On the other hand, the Sportz Hy-CNG Duo is priced around Rs 37,000 more than the Sportz petrol AMT variant. For those who were planning to buy the single-cylinder CNG model (which is also on sale), the price of the Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo might make you rethink your decision as it is priced just Rs 7,000 more than the single-cylinder CNG model.

With this update, the Grand i10 Nios will join the Exter, Tiago, Punch, Tigor and Altroz CNG models in offering similar twin-cylinder CNG technology. Like the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, the twin-cylinder CNG technology in the Nios comprises two smaller CNG cylinders with a total capacity of 60 litres, giving it a larger boot space compared to conventional CNG cars.
