- Spy photographers have captured new photos of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N.
- The model is expected to debut next year and will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with up to 641 horsepower.
- The high-performance model also heralds styling changes for the facelifted sedan.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has struggled to attract buyers, but enthusiasts are in for a treat as the company is working on a high-performance N model. Recently, word has emerged that a prototype is being tested in Europe, with many details yet to be revealed.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”); } });
From the exterior, we can see an all-new front end, which will be shared with the facelifted sedan. It’s a radical change as the droopy headlights will be replaced with split lighting units. Like the Sonata, this car will feature a seamless horizontal light that sits above a slender main beam.

Below is a sporty front bumper with vertical air curtains and a prominent central air intake. This may be unique to the N model, as previous prototypes were more conservative.

Later on, we can see that the car’s high-speed look continues with lightweight wheels paired with a high-performance brake system and red calipers. They blend in with the aggressive side skirts and side camera mirrors.

Of course, the real highlight is the low-mounted wing. Designers have also reshaped the rear of the model, which appears to have a taller spoiler. We can also see new bumpers and upgraded lighting.
Spy photographers didn’t get to see the interior, but the model will likely follow in the footsteps of the facelifted Ioniq 5. If that’s the case, the car will likely feature a new steering wheel, an updated center console, and added physical switchgear.
Speaking of sharing, the model is expected to use the same powertrain as the Ioniq 5 N. It has an 84 kWh battery pack that powers a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces 601 horsepower (448 kW / 609 PS) and 545 lb-ft (739 Nm) of torque. However, the N Grin Boost function temporarily increases the output to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm). This enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.25 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 162 mph (261 km/h).
