Creta set a personal record of domestic sales of 17,497 units in a single month; Hyundai SUV sales reached 37,902 units in October 2024
In October 2024, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL)’s total sales volume was 70,078 units, of which 55,568 units were sold in the domestic market and 14,510 units were exported, setting the third highest monthly sales and domestic sales results since its operation. The country’s second-largest automaker posted its highest-ever monthly sales of SUVs last month.
In terms of SUVs, the brand has sold a total of 37,902 units. Hyundai Creta has set a personal record of domestic sales of 17,497 units in a single month. So far this year, total domestic and export sales have reached 647,789 units from January to October. In addition, Hyundai Motor’s monthly CNG sales reached a record high of 8,261 units.
This accounted for 14.9% of domestic sales in October. The SUV segment overall maintained a strong share, accounting for 68.2% of local sales during the month. Talking about HMIL’s sales figures, Tarun Garg, Whole Time Director & COO, HMIL explain,

“During the festive season, we witnessed strong demand for our SUV portfolio, leading to record monthly sales of our SUVs at 37,902 units, including record monthly domestic sales of Hyundai CRETA at 17,497 units. The South Korean auto giant is gearing up to launch its first locally made electric car in India. The mid-size electric SUV is based on the Creta and is expected to compete directly with high-spec models such as the recently launched Tata Curvv, Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400. It may have a range of more than 450 kilometers on a single charge.

The second-generation Hyundai Venue is also under development and will likely go on sale in the middle of next year. It will be the first model to be launched from the Talegaon plant acquired by General Motors and will come with a host of interior and exterior modifications. However, existing powertrain options can be retained.
