Hyundai Motor India plans to deploy around 600 electric vehicle (EV) fast charging stations across the country in the next seven years. By the end of this month, they aim to have around 50 such sites operational. To date, these charging stations have completed approximately 50,000 charges, providing more than 730,000 units of energy to more than 10,000 electric vehicle users, including those with modern and non-modern vehicles.
Commenting on the news, Jae Wan Ryu, Head of Corporate Planning Function at HMIL, said: “The electric vehicle market is expected to grow strongly until 2030. Research conducted by HMIL highlighted that customers are concerned about driving electric vehicles for long commutes on highways due to lack of charging. Infrastructure. With this in mind, HMIL has taken the initiative to install fast electric vehicle chargers in major cities and major highways. Signed MoU with Government of Tamil Nadu
The South Korean carmaker has partnered with the Tamil Nadu government to set up 100 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the state by 2027, with the aim of driving the adoption of green mobility. By the end of 2024, 10 stations are expected to be operational. Electric vehicle owners in Tamil Nadu can avail these charging stations round the clock through the myHyundai app. Customers can use the ‘EV Charge’ feature through the app, which provides access to more than 10,000 electric vehicle charging points across the country. The service is offered in partnership with partners such as ChargeZone, Statiq and Shell India.
HMIL’s charging stations are equipped with advanced chargers and are available in multiple configurations including DC 150 kW + DC 60 kW + DC 30 kW, DC 150 kW + DC 30 kW or DC 60 kW. These stations are strategically located in major cities such as Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Chennai. The company has also expanded its network across the country with locations in Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Surat, Bengaluru-Pune and Stations have been installed along major highways such as Pune-Kolhapur.

Hyundai Motor Sales Results: November 2024
Hyundai Motor’s sales in November 2024 totaled 61,252 units, down 6.9% from 65,801 units in the same month last year. Sales fell 12.5% compared with October’s 70,078 units. In the domestic market, the company delivered 48,246 vehicles, a decrease of 2.4%, while exports fell by 20.5%, with shipments of 13,006 units compared to 16,350 units in November 2023. Year to date, Hyundai’s total sales fell slightly by 0.04% to 709,000 units. Among them, domestic sales were 563,000 units, an increase of 0.7%; exports were 145,000 units, a decrease of 2.8%. Between January and October 2024, Hyundai Motor reported that overall sales increased by 6% to about 648,000 vehicles, driven by a 1.1% increase in domestic sales and a 26.6% increase in exports.
