Hyundai Motor’s sales will reach 764,000 vehicles in 2024, setting an annual record

Hyundai Motor’s domestic sales (including exports) in 2024 will reach 7,64,119 units, setting a record for three consecutive years

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) once again set the highest annual domestic sales record in 2024, breaking records for the third consecutive year. With impressive domestic sales of 6,05,433 units, HMIL continues to be the leader in the Indian automobile industry. Total sales for the year, including exports, reached 7,64,119 units.

In December 2024, the Korean auto giant’s total sales were 55,078 vehicles, of which 42,208 were domestic sales and 12,870 were exported. Compared with December 2023, domestic sales fell slightly by 1.3%, but exports fell by 6.1% year-on-year. Creta emerged as the best performing model with domestic sales in 2024 reaching its best ever of 1,86,919 units.

This milestone helped HMIL achieve its highest-ever SUV contribution to domestic sales at 67.6%. HMIL’s CNG product portfolio also witnessed significant growth in 2024. The company’s Hy-CNG Duo (twin-cylinder CNG) technology launched has received strong response from buyers, resulting in CNG vehicles’ contribution to domestic sales reaching 13.1%, a significant increase from 10.4% in 2023.

Hyundai Motor’s exports in 2024 totaled 1,58,686 units, which, although slightly down from 2023, demonstrates the company’s strong position as a global export hub.

The upcoming CRETA Electric is expected to further strengthen our leadership in the SUV segment and is expected to redefine intelligence in India Travel.”

Hyundai launched the Creta and Alcazar facelifts in 2024, which helped boost the brand’s monthly sales. At the Bharat Mobile World Expo 2025 to be held this month, the company will launch the electric version of Creta and a host of new concepts will also grace the event. The Creta EV will compete with the likes of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra BE 6 in the highly competitive mid-size electric SUV segment.
