Orlando — International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Announces Launch IAAPA Middle East Exposet to debut in 2026 ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi.

IAAPA President and CEO Jacob Wahl said the attractions industry in the Middle East is booming and IAAPA members in the region have expressed demand for this event.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and more recently, we’ve seen a number of projects in the attractions industry in Saudi Arabia,” Wahl said. “When you see the growth in the industry, you also see the growth in IAAPA membership and the growth in demand for the products we offer…people are saying ‘Hey, this area is growing so fast. We need the product , we need education – why not have a trade show here?… We are pleased to do this as we see sustainable growth in the region. “

Organized for success

IAAPA has a regional office in the Middle East and plans to expand in the future. Wahl believes IAAPA staff from across the region will be key to the campaign moving forward.

“For us, a trade show can only be successful if our team members speak the same language, are in the same time zone, understand the market and are experts in their market,” explains Val.

Meet and expand needs

Wahl said IAAPA members from the Middle East attend trade shows in North America and Europe, but believes events in the region will help the association grow without reducing attendance at other shows.

“It’s a long journey (from the Middle East to Europe or North America) and our trade shows offer something not only for senior managers but also for middle managers,” Wahl said. “Most of the time, you can’t take 50 people overseas… That’s why we decided to host the event in the region: to make it more accessible for everyone.

“As the show grows in Europe, we don’t see the Orlando show being affected because they’re still two very different shows. They’re a different scale (and) have different personalities… people like to actually go there… … Get to know the market, see what’s out there, see what’s new.”

Carefully curated opportunities

The association is organizing a massive educational program, a showcase that provides professionals with enriching opportunities to improve their parks and/or attractions, and More.

The 2024 IAAPA Expo is scheduled for next month in Orlando, with educational events taking place November 18-21 and exhibit halls open November 19-22. The 2023 edition of the show won the stickiest venue award at the 2024 TSE Gold 100 Awards and Summit.

“This is a very high-level, well-executed trade show, and we take care of our people…It’s not just, ‘Hey, we take your money. This is your booth,’ but we build relationships to make sure they host A successful Expo, that is what we will guarantee for the Expo in the Middle East,” said Wahl.
