However, range anxiety and pricing remain the main concerns for buyers. Fortunately, OEMs like Tata, MG and Mahindra now offer affordable electric cars. JSW MG Motor India has recently launched Updated Comet EVprice ranges from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The lineup has five trims – executives, inspire, inspire fast charging, exclusive and exclusive fast charge. The powertrain setup of the MG Comet EV includes a 17.4KWH battery, which can provide a range of up to 230 km (IDC). It produces a maximum power of 41.42bhp and 110nm of torque.

The Tata Tiago EV currently offers two battery packs (19.2kWh and 24kWh), providing a MIDC range of 223 km and 293 km, respectively. The smaller battery pack produces a maximum power of 61bhp and a torque of 110nm, but the larger battery provides a value of 75bhp, at 114nm. It is one of the most affordable electric vehicles available in India right now. The basic variant of the Tiago EV is available for Rs 7.99 lakh, and the high-end variant costs Rs 1,114 crore (former showroom).

According to the Acti.ev platform, the Tata Punch EV comes with two battery options – 25kWh and 35kWh. The automaker claims its compact electric SUV offers a 315km MIDC range with smaller batteries and larger 421km. The standard version returns with 82bhp at 114nm of torque, while the remote version is expected to have a maximum power of 122bhp and 190nm of torque. The price of the Punch EV starts at Rs 999 crore.
