- Law enforcement says a 21-year-old man illegally drove his car onto a Massachusetts beach.
- As soon as he stepped onto the beach, he allegedly performed a donut show, nearly hitting pedestrians.
- He now faces multiple charges, including a charge of driving under the influence that day.
On December 26, beachgoers in Massachusetts hoping to catch a glimpse of winter wildlife got another surprise: an Infiniti sedan tearing up the sand. The driver, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, performed donuts on Nahant Beach and nearly hit bystanders in the process, according to law enforcement.
According to reports, the driver was 21-year-old Angel Montas, who appeared to be driving a G35X on the day of the incident. While some beaches in the United States allow drivers to drive their cars onto the beach and park/camp with some degree of freedom, this is not the case at Nahant Beach where Montas is located. Beachgoers reported his presence to police on the 26th, and when police arrived, he was still driving on the beach.

Police said he actually made several trips to the beach before they stopped him. In the process, he allegedly nearly hit some elderly people and drove his car into the sea on at least one occasion. It appears he managed to make it back to land as there were no reports of car rescue operations that day.
Montas now faces a series of serious charges. These include driving under the influence, assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, driving without an inspection sticker, license plate violation, marked lane violation and operating a vehicle with a covered motor vehicle window. He was arraigned on the 27th and another court date is January 23, 2025.
While some commenters claimed it was funny, it was clear that Montas was putting others at risk. Sure, the video seems to show him giving pedestrians a lot of space, but the truth is, even then, he was allegedly doing all this while drunk. This was a recipe for potential disaster, and he should be glad that something worse didn’t happen.
Hopefully he can learn from his beach day mistakes.
