QX50 and QX55 production could end in summer 2026
- Infiniti will reportedly discontinue the QX50 and QX55 in the near future.
- There won’t be direct successors to these models, but the brand may launch a version of the Nissan Rogue.
- The Infiniti Rogue will reportedly be a hybrid model and could serve as the brand’s entry-level model.
Infiniti is at a crossroads as the brand recently discontinued the Q50 and its previously announced EV continues to be delayed. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Q60 and Q70 will also become distant memories.
The QX55 was also a flop. The crossover coupe sold just 1,854 units in the second quarter, and the model’s best year was in 2023, when the brand sold 5,417 in the United States.

Given numbers like these, it’s no surprise that the QX55 is rumored to be discontinued. According to Automotive News, Infiniti will not release a successor to the QX50 or QX55, and AutoForecast Solutions says production will end in August 2026. However, the automaker may extend their lifecycles.
While the discontinuation of the QX55 is not surprising, the QX50, the brand’s entry-level model, remains popular. The company has sold 5,156 vehicles in the first half of this year, but sales are down nearly 50% from a few years ago.
To fill the void, Infiniti could introduce a Nissan Rogue model. Automotive News says the luxury brand is currently exploring the idea, and the model would most likely be a hybrid.
While it remains to be seen whether Infiniti will introduce a Rogue model, the brand has already announced plans for the new QX65 crossover coupe. It will be a mid-size two-row SUV that, according to the publication, will be based on the QX60 and will take aim at the Lexus RX.
