Innova Hybross Hybrid improves pedestrian safety

To solve this problem, many Hyundai cars are equipped with a sound vehicle alert system (AVA). Now, Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid introduces this feature. Toyota Innova hybrid hybrid gets AWA

Pedestrians have lived in ice trucks all their lives, so they have become accustomed to the familiar buzz of gasoline and diesel engines. The sound acts as a natural warning system, marking them to remain alert. But with the growing presence of electric vehicles, powerful hybrids and PHEVs, pedestrians may misjudgment their surroundings. The brain that explains the road scheme through engine noise may not recognize the approaching vehicle. It can lead to accidents.

Conditions over the years will not change overnight. That’s why automakers have started deploying sound vehicle alert systems (AVA). The Innova Hycross Hybrid is the latest on the list of Hyundai cars equipped with Avas. Avas Tech’s work is to make sounds loud enough that pedestrians can be heard. According to the model, AVAS sounds can have various formats such as the sound of a synthesis engine, soft space-like tones, or futuristic buzz or noisy noise.

Strong hybrid variants of Innova groceries can be propagated in EV-only mode for a limited period. This is a high risk for pedestrians. With Avas, Innova Miscellaneous can better address pedestrian safety. Users can access this feature using powerful hybrid variants – VX, VX(O), ZX and ZX(O). Features such as AVA can also help cars get better rankings in the global NCAP and Bharat NCAP crash tests. Although Innova’s hybrid system has not been tested for crashes, it could become a future possibility.

No other changes

There are no other changes to the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid except for the Avas update. Safety is already very powerful, such as 6-roll bags, hill start assist, vehicle stability control, panoramic view monitor with dynamic back guide, SOS (E-CALL), EPB with automatic fixing, automatic fixing, front and reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera and anti-theft equipment. ADAS functions can also be obtained through the Toyota sense of security system. It includes blind spot monitors, dynamic radar cruise control, lane trace assist, rear cross traffic alert, pre-collision system and automatic high beams.

Other cars with Avas

Interestingly, Maruti Grand Vitara is already available for Avas. Maruti introduced this feature in 2023 with Grand Vitara. At that time, the Avas upgrade caused the price of the Grand Vitara to rise by Rs 4,000. Maruti Evitara can also use Avas. Its reshaped version of Toyota is expected to get Avas as well. Among the competitors, the Tata Curvv EV is equipped with Avas.
