Is Liberty Walk's wide-body Lamborghini Miura blasphemous or glorious?
  • Liberty Walk redesigned the Miura with new aerodynamic parts, flared fenders and extreme styling.
  • Most of the original panels were replaced with aggressive bodywork in a motorsport style.
  • It’s unclear whether the tuner modified the supercar’s naturally aspirated V12 engine.

The Tokyo Auto Salon is just around the corner, and with it comes all the wild, eye-catching creations we’ve come to expect. Leading this year? Liberty Walk’s widebody Lamborghini Miura is a radical reinvention of what is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever built, and it’s already causing a stir. The controversial version, first previewed in late November, is sure to divide opinion faster than you can say “blasphemous.”

For those unfamiliar, Liberty Walk is a Japanese tuning company famous (or infamous, depending, for applying its signature widebody treatment to everything from the Nissan GT-R to Ferraris and Lamborghinis Who are you asking). In recent years, the store has set its sights on several big-name classic supercars.

It first built the wide-body Ferrari F40 and then the wide-body Lamborghini Countach. It has now developed and produced a widebody kit for the Miura, although we’d be surprised if existing Miura owners were actually interested.

Liberty Walk’s kit for the Miura is called LB-Silhouette Works GT and joins a range of other similar kits including the Lamborghini Murcielago, Aventador, Huracan and Ferrari 458 Italia. Virtually all of the exterior panels on the classic Italian supercar have been upgraded or replaced. Whether this is a good thing depends on your stance on classic cars.

The front end gets a dramatic splitter and aggressive canards. Liberty Walk then fabricated new wide front fenders and installed a set of deep-dish aftermarket wheels. Continuing the bold styling are clever aerodynamic side skirts and a pair of small racing-style door mirrors. The rear flap is all new, now featuring flared arches and a wild diffuser.

This is a LB model, and it wouldn’t be complete without the towering rear wing and pillars that extend upward from the rear bumper. It looks like the car has been lowered via an air suspension system, although we won’t know for sure until it’s revealed to the public in Tokyo.

No matter where you end up, there’s no denying that Liberty Walk knows how to grab attention and keep the internet buzzing. Is this attention positive or negative? Well, that’s up to you.

Finally release!! LB-Silhouette WORKS GT Lamborghini Miura
