The market for crossover SUVs has been booming. Nissan aims to launch with Magnite in 2020 and capture it.
The “new” Nissan Magnite was launched in October 2024 to increase Nissan’s sales in growing cross-border markets. “New” is marked in double quotes because you don’t get anything new except for some minor changes to the outside. We got a slightly updated front grille and made some revisions to the rear bumper. The new LED lighting elements and wheels are diamond-cut, with a little different taillights. The car weighs about 80 kg more than the previous model, which can be attributed to better safety standards provided by Nissan.
We drove the Nissan Magnite Tekna+ variant, which should be the best they have, while the others are Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna. Automatic points for sale in the UK have the same variant names and they have to choose these for Nissan at a good price. The Tekna+ features a full leather upholstery with brown orange leather wrapping dashboard and door inserts. Personally, I don’t really like orange leather because it’s too big for my eyes. Something more refined like dark grey and black would fit my personal needs. The seats are treated with leather-slits with thermal protection technology, which will emit heat and keep the driver cool in the summer.
The engine has no changes, and the engine of this Tekna+ variant has the same 1.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 100 hp and 160 nm of torque. When you press the accelerator, there is some lag, and it’s just turbo lag. As I crossed Pune, I felt the acceleration provided by the car was enough, but there was a Sport Mode button on the gear lever that would make the car faster.
Nissan Magnite is a four-star rating product in the Global New Automobile Evaluation Program (GNCAP). It can provide common safety treatments for all vehicles in its class, such as airbags, seat belts, ABS, electronic stability plan (ESP), traction control systems. When reversed, it also gets a 360-degree camera, but can use the on-screen image resolution. My personal favorite feature among security features is Hill Assist. At many junctions, I’m happy to use it.
Surprisingly, Nissan launched the Magnite Tekna+ without many changes, but before the release, we were almost complete before the release, while Nissan charged the price. I’m sure Amagite designers were thinking “why fix it if it’s not bankrupt” when designing this. Nissan Magnite Tekna+ can be your 1.15 lakh rupees, former showroom.
