- The aftermarket tray is made of plastic and silicone and mounts to the steering wheel for $78.
- Teslaunch claims it turns its electric truck into a “functional workspace,” but we doubt it.
In the ever-expanding world of Tesla accessories, some are genuinely useful, and then there are this–The Cybertruck’s weird steering wheel tray. Not only is it very specific; It’s also oddly expensive, making you wonder: who exactly asked for this and why?
What you’re looking at is a strange steering wheel tray designed specifically for an electric pickup truck and sold by Teslalaunch, a website that specializes in aftermarket accessories for Tesla’s full range of electric vehicles. The tray appears to be made of plastic and rubber and slides around the center of the steering wheel and locks into place.

A photo posted by the seller shows a tray with a cup of coffee, a McDonald’s McWuffin and a mug. It has also been proven to help support the phone. The description adds the tray to “turn your Cybertruck into a functional workspace” (presumably when not driving), although it doesn’t look like it’s sturdy enough or big enough to support a laptop with a large tablet, so we think A lot of buyers won’t use it for work. Instead, it’s probably best suited for dining while the owner is sitting at a public charging station and wondering why not buy a hybrid or why not charge at home.
Plastic and rubber are expensive
This strange accessory costs $78, which is surprisingly pricey considering it’s essentially a curved piece of plastic with a rubber base. But, as all Tesla owners know, accessorizing your car has never been affordable.
Teslaunch doesn’t just sell steering wheel trays. The site also offers a range of other aftermarket parts for the Cybertruck, including carbon fiber interior trim, under-seat storage bins and a center console organization tray, items that might actually make the truck more practical. But if you are looking for more accessories actual Tesla itself has a lot of options besides the steering wheel tray.
From pet padding for the back seat, to a large cooler in the trunk, to sunshades for the large panoramic glass roof panel, Tesla’s official accessories range is stocked with everything. For more important gear, like a tailgate ramp or bumper protector, it’s best to go directly to the source. After all, you don’t want to be caught charging your Cybertruck with just a McMuffin and an overpriced plastic tray.
