Iveco has unveiled a new all-electric light commercial vehicle for the European market, developed jointly with Hyundai Motor. The Iveco eMoovy is essentially a rebadged version of the Hyundai Staria, featuring a chassis cab body style and a zero-emission powertrain.
Iveco says the eMoovy is the first electric vehicle in the 2.5-3.5 tonne light commercial vehicle segment. According to the press release, the electric system is inherited from the Hyundai Group’s largest electric SUV, most likely the Kia EV9 and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Power comes from an electric motor that produces 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Battery capacity is 63 kW or 76 kWh, with the larger capacity battery providing a maximum WLTP range of 320 km (199 miles). In addition, the 800V architecture is compatible with V2L functionality and ultra-fast charging. When connected to a 350 kW charger, the LCV can add 100 km (62 miles) of range in 10 minutes.
Hyundai has yet to release an EV version of the Staria, which currently offers both ICE and hybrid options. It is very likely that this MPV will adopt the powertrain of the Iveco eMoovy in the near future, further expanding its product line.
Visually, the model is identical to the Hyundai ST1, which is the cab-chassis version of the Staria. The only exception is the decorative grille insert at the front with Iveco lettering. The rear is configurable and the range of bodies is wide, including vans and pickups.
Depending on the add-ons, the maximum load volume is 10 cubic meters (353 cubic feet) and the payload is 1.5 tons (3,307 pounds). Iveco says the LCV’s low profile is “ideal for logistics and distribution operations” and the low ground clearance “maximizes cargo box capacity and improves operator maneuverability.”
The interior and equipment also inherit the style of the modern twins, including the digital cockpit, eco-leather seats with heating and ventilation functions, and multiple ADAS.
The Iveco eMoovy made its debut at the IAA transport show in Hanover. In addition to the new eLCV, Hyundai and Iveco are also exploring “electric heavy-duty truck solutions for the European market,” expanding a collaboration that began in 2022 with a focus on carbon-neutral mobility and transport.
