- Jaguar has built two special E-Type Series I convertible coupe models for a very special customer in Southeast Asia.
- They feature custom jewelry in mother-of-pearl, hallmarked sterling silver, and gold.
Jaguar Classic has launched a special pair of E-Types, complete with bespoke jewellery. Unlike previous models, which were perfectly restored, these models were built from scratch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the end of E-Type production in 1974.
The two models were built for “loyal, discerning customers in Southeast Asia” and took more than 2,000 hours to complete. The company describes the commissions as “the finest examples of bespoke creation of Jaguar classics”, adding that they will not be replicated.

The first all-new E-Type in half a century is inspired by the last 50 commemorative editions produced in 1974. Both cars are I-series drop-top coupes in Signet Green and Opal Black.
The absolute highlight of the reborn classic is Jaguar’s collaboration with Deakin & Francis, Britain’s oldest manufacturing jewellers, founded in 1786. The result is precious mother-of-pearl, signature sterling silver accessories and 18-karat gold details that add to the exclusivity of this watch. Build.
Jewelry isn’t the only custom feature in the cabin. The seats are upholstered in hand-woven and stitched Bridge of Weir tan leather. The center console is made of anodized aluminum and is engraved with Series IE blueprints taken from the Jaguar archives. Additionally, Jaguar has added a modern and discreet radio with Bluetooth connectivity and a heated windshield.
Both models are powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six engine upgraded to electronic fuel injection. Additionally, engineers replaced the original four-speed manual transmission with a modified five-speed manual to make the driver’s life easier – should he decide to drive them at all.
The company did not disclose the cost of the two newly built Jaguar Classic E-Type Commemorative Editions. What is certain, however, is that they are more expensive than factory-reconditioned units from just a few years ago.
