Jaguar Land Rover recalls due to engine fires, oil leaks

A faulty oil filter housing can rupture, allowing oil to leak onto hot engine parts and cause a fire.

— Jaguar Land Rover has recalled about 2,200 of these vehicles due to oil leaks that could cause engine fires.

  • 2024 Jaguar F-Pace

  • 2024 Land Rover Defender

  • 2024 Land Rover Discovery

  • 2024 Range Rover

  • 2024 Range Rover Sport

  • 2024 Range Rover Velar

According to Jaguar Land Rover, cracks may develop in the oil filter housing, causing oil to leak into the engine compartment.

The problem is caused by the plastic used to make the oil filter housing, which can crack, causing oil to leak onto engine components.

In April this year, Jaguar Land Rover discovered that its oil filter housing was cracked and engineers immediately launched an investigation.

Between April 6 and May 31, 2024, seven fires were reported in the United States, faults were discovered and affected parts were collected.

Jaguar Land Rover oil leak recall letters will be mailed on August 9, 2024, and dealers will replace the filter housing, oil filter and O-rings.

Jaguar Land Rover owners with questions about the oil recall can call 800-637-6837. Jaguar Land Rover’s oil recall number is N908.
