— Jeep’s instrument panel recall affects about 33,000 Jeep Gladiators and Jeep Wranglers, which could cause drivers to lose their speedometers and warning lights.
The Fiat Chrysler recall includes 2020 to 2024 Jeep Gladiator and 2018 to 2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles whose instrument panel clusters may malfunction due to a short circuit.
Once a Jeep dashboard fails, it will not function.
In October 2022, Chrysler was notified that the instrument panels on 2018 to 2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2020 to 2024 Jeep Gladiator vehicles were blank.
Engineers studied the failure mode and examined instrument panels that were returned under warranty. FCA and the supplier determined the failure was caused by an internal short circuit.
In addition to hiding important safety displays from the driver, a blank dashboard violates federal safety standards.
The Jeep instrument panel recall letters are expected to be mailed on October 3, 2024. Chrysler dealers will need to replace the instrument panel cluster.
Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler owners with questions should call 800-853-1403. FCA’s Jeep instrument panel recall number is 30B.
