
JSW MG Motor reported an 8% year-on-year drop in retail sales in September, with 4,588 units sold in the month. This is down from 5,003 units in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the company also announced that new energy vehicles (NEVs) accounted for 49% of its total sales last month, highlighting their growing contribution. MG further revealed that starting this month, it will transition to the Vaahan Portal for sales reporting. MG Motor has continued to publish retail sales data since entering the Indian market, and its switch to Vaahan reflects the maturity and reliability of its sales data.

The British manufacturer admitted that sales are facing challenges due to the Shradd period and extended monsoon, but expressed optimism about improving market activity in the wake of the festive season. MG Motor expects the number of dealers to increase in the coming months and the market response to be positive.
Despite declining sales, MG Motor remains focused on expanding its electric vehicle lineup and enhancing customer experience to drive future growth. The brand’s performance in the coming months will be closely watched as it seeks to regain momentum in the highly competitive Indian auto industry.

MG launches Windsor EV, expands India product line-up
MG Motor has recently launched the Windsor EV, expanding its model range in India and further strengthening its position in the growing electric vehicle (EV) market. The all-electric CUV comes in three variants (Excite, Exclusive and Essence) and will be initially priced at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom with the option of leasing the battery at Rs 3.5/km. Alternatively, customers can purchase the vehicle outright with prices starting from Rs 13.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
Windsor EV is equipped with advanced features including a large 15.6-inch infotainment display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. It also offers ventilated front seats, a power driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic fixed glass sunroof, and a 60:40-split rear seat that reclines 135 degrees.
All models are equipped with a 38kWh battery pack, which is said to be capable of driving 331 kilometers on a single charge. It delivers 134bhp of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque, and features four driving modes and three levels of regenerative braking.
