K24’s rebadged Ariel Atom could be the ultimate track toy

  • This Atom is fully powered by a Honda K24 four-cylinder engine and a massive Garrett turbocharger.
  • The Atom’s suspension and brakes have also been extensively upgraded.
  • Connected to the Honda engine is a six-speed transmission with a Wavetrac limited-slip differential.

If you want a dedicated track car or the ultimate canyon carver, you could, like many people do, head straight to a Porsche dealership and buy the keys to a new or used 911. But if you want something a little less conventional and a little faster, this heavily modified 2016 Ariel Atom 3S could satisfy your needs.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”); } });

Every Ariel Atom is unique, and while the standard car is impressive, the seller of this one has made a dizzying array of modifications to it. Those changes start with the powertrain, as the original engine has been removed and replaced with a turbocharged 2.4-liter Honda K24 four-cylinder.

The engine then received Darton sleeves, ported cylinder heads, Stage 3 camshafts, a CNC-ported Skunk2 Ultra Race intake manifold, and O-ring seals. It’s controlled by a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU and tuned for flex-fuel, putting out 633 horsepower and 392 lb-ft (531 Nm) of torque at the rear wheels. That’s a lot of power for a four-cylinder engine, but Honda’s K24 is known for being extremely adaptable, and with the right upgrades, this power level can be easily and safely maintained.

Mated to the K24 is a reworked six-speed transmission connected by a Wavetrac limited-slip differential. As for the wheels, they are 15-inch front and 17-inch rear Konigs with Nitto NT01 and NT555RII tires.

The listing also tells us that the suspension has been overhauled with new Palatov billet uprights and swingarms, JRi adjustable coilover shocks with H&R springs, and adjustable lower rear control arms. A set of slotted brake rotors and Alcon calipers are responsible for keeping you alive. A lot of work has been done on the Ariel’s aerodynamics with a large rear wing, carbon fiber front wing, and a new diffuser.

As you might imagine, the interior is pretty basic, but it does include a pair of racing seats with Sabelt racing harnesses, a 12-volt power outlet, a Sparco steering wheel, and a digital instrument cluster.

If you’re interested in bidding, head over to Bring a Trailer as you might be able to pick up the track monster of your dreams.
