Kia India is gearing up for an exciting dual model launch this festive season. On October 3, 2024, the South Korean automaker will launch the current generation Kia Carnival MPV and the much-anticipated Kia EV9 electric SUV in India.
Kia Carnival: A new generation of MPV
The new-generation Kia Carnival is set to make a grand return to the Indian market. Initially launched as a completely built-up vehicle (CBU), the Carnival is expected to be locally assembled in the future. The redesigned Carnival will come with a host of advanced features including dual 12.3-inch screens, 360-degree camera, head-up display, ventilated seats and climate control.
Globally, the Carnival is offered in a variety of seating configurations, including 7-, 9- and 11-seater layouts. In India, the new-generation Carnival is expected to be offered with various engine and transmission options. Prices are expected to be between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), reflecting its premium positioning.
Kia EV9: The brand’s flagship electric SUV
Kia’s flagship electric SUV, the EV9, will make its India debut alongside the Carnival. Built on the E-GMP skateboard platform, the Kia EV9 is a full-size SUV with staggering dimensions – over 5,000 mm in length and a 3,100 mm wheelbase. This makes it one of the largest SUVs in Kia’s global lineup.
The EV9 will be available in multiple battery options, with the larger battery offering a range of over 500 km. The premium SUV will be fully imported and its price is expected to be around Rs 1 crore. The Kia EV9 promises a bold design, sharp looks and spacious three-row interiors. It will come with features like ventilated seats, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), connectivity options and digital displays.
Both the Kia Carnival and Kia EV9 will be available for bookings from October 3, 2024, and deliveries of the Carnival and EV9 are expected to start around Diwali 2024.
