Kia EV6 facelift design patented in India, hinting at upcoming changes

Kia has filed a design patent application in India for the EV6 Facelift, which features significant visual enhancements at the front such as redesigned LED daytime running lights that span the width and pointed headlights that extend deep into the bumper. Additionally, the front bumper gets new air vents. There aren’t many changes to the exterior, except for the new alloy wheel designs. For those who don’t know, the facelifted EV6 has made its global debut with updated looks, technical, and mechanical specifications. However, it is not clear whether Kia will launch the same model in India or modify it to meet Indian specifications. Kia EV6 facelift: powertrain

The new battery capacity of the facelifted Kia EV6 is 84kWh, up from 77.4kWh before. It is compatible with 350kW DC fast charging and can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. Kia offers two powertrain options for the facelifted EV6: AWD (all-wheel drive) and RWD (rear-wheel drive). The single-motor RWD model can output 222bhp and 350Nm, while the dual-motor AWD model can output 316bhp and 605Nm.

Kia EV6 facelift: interior and features

The Kia EV6 Facelift comes with a unique steering wheel and fingerprint authentication mechanism that allows registered owners to start the electric car without a key. It also comes with two huge 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument screens that are slightly curved to form a huge panoramic display unit. Other notable highlights include an augmented reality-based navigation system, Vehicle-2-Load function, head-up display, dial-type shifter, and digital rearview mirror. In terms of safety, the car is equipped with 10 airbags (standard) and Level 2 ADAS, etc.

Kia EV6 facelift: Estimated launch date in India

Although no official announcement has been made yet, the upgraded EV6 is likely to be launched in India by 2025. The SUV, which comes with several features and exterior improvements, will be priced higher than the current version, starting at Rs 60.97 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of market competition, the upgraded Kia EV6 will continue to compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
