Kia India has launched the EV9 three-row electric SUV, which made its India debut in concept form at the 2023 Auto Expo. The electric SUV joins the EV6 (priced at Rs 60.97 lakh – Rs 65.97 lakh, ex-showroom) in Kia India’s electric vehicle lineup. Completely imported model. The Kia EV9 is priced at Rs 130 crore (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQE and other luxury electric SUVs. The new flagship electric SUV is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which underpins the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. The Kia EV9 is equipped with a 99.8kWh battery pack and is said to have an ARAI-certified driving range of 561 kilometers. On a single charge, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes using a 350kW fast charger.
The EV9 uses a dual-motor setup with a rated power of 379bhp, a peak torque of 700Nm, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds. It also offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology that enables owners to power appliances using the vehicle’s on-board battery pack.

Kia EV9: Appearance
The EV9 is Kia’s largest and most expensive SUV in the world. It adopts a hatchback shape, and its design style is similar to the EV3 and EV5 sold abroad. At the front, the car features a vertical headlight design with star-map LED DRLs (daytime running lights), and Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille with a single vent.
Visually, the EV9 has a flat roofline, flush door handles and aerospace alloys with sharp wheel inserts. Wheel sizes range from 20 to 22 inches. The carefully crafted rear fascia features vertical taillight clusters, a prominent roof spoiler and Kia lettering on the tailgate. Kia offers five exterior color options for the EV9: Snow White Pearl, Ocean Blue, Pebble Grey, Leopard Metallic and Aurora Black Pearl. In terms of dimensions, EV9 is 5,015mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,780mm high. The wheelbase is 3,100 mm long and the ground clearance is 198 mm.
Kia EV9: Interior, features
Inside, the Kia EV9 offers two-tone interior theme options: white-black and beige-black. It’s high on technology and comes with a host of features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, dual power sunroofs and a 5.0-inch climate control panel. Digital key, digital interior mirror, power-adjustable telescopic steering wheel, 64-color ambient lighting, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, OTA updates, 3-zone climate control, Kia Connect 2.0 with 103 connected technology features, and wireless charger too part of the mix
The three-row EV9 is available in a single GT-Line AWD version, with second-row captain’s chairs that are electrically adjustable in eight ways and benefit from massage functions and under-thigh support. The driver and co-pilot have an 18-way adjustable seat (with memory function) and a 12-way adjustable seat respectively.

Kia EV9: Safety suite
For safety, the car comes equipped with 10 airbags, ESC, ABS, 360-degree surround camera, all-wheel disc brakes, parking sensors (front, side and rear) and Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Keeping Assist.
