Kia today announced EV9 prices in India. The brand’s flagship product is a fully loaded GT-Line model priced at Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). At this price point, the EV9 electric SUV competes with the Mercedes EQS, Audi Q8 e-tron and BMW iX, which are priced at Rs 162 crore, Rs 115 crore – Rs 127 crore and Rs 140 crore respectively.
The EV9’s powertrain setup includes a 99.8kWh battery pack and two electric motors with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The electric motor delivers a maximum power of 384 bhp and a torque of 700 Nm. The electric SUV is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and is certified by ARAI and has a range of 561 km on a full charge. Using a 350kW DC fast charger, the SUV’s battery pack takes 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
Functionally, the Kia EV9 is a well-equipped motor. The interior adopts a brown and black two-tone theme and has a 6-seat layout. Second-row passengers have access to power-adjustable captain’s chairs with adjustable leg support and massage functions. The electric SUV features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The new Kia electric SUV comes standard with 20 safety features, including ABS, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, 10 airbags, downhill brake control, brake assist, vehicle stability management, emergency stop signal, front and side , rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, three-point seat belts and all seat reminders, speed-sensitive door locks and impact-sensitive door unlocks.
In addition to the standard safety suite, the EV9 also offers a Level 2 ADAS suite with 27 autonomous features such as forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist, parking collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision warning , high beam assist, safe exit assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, 360-degree camera, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and blind-sight monitor.
